New Prompt for 2025
While Howler always appreciates beautiful works of staggering genius in any of the below categories (fiction, poetry, scripts, see general submission guidelines, why are you still reading), we’re especially looking for pieces on theme this year.
And what is our theme, you ask?
At Howler Literary this year, we want the pieces of you, the scraps, the vision board of you, the stamps of your heart, and the cut-outs of your memories. Take the ransom notes and scrapbook pages of your scattered life and turn them into well-crafted fiction, poetry, and visual art for our latest issue.
General Submission Guidelines
Howler Literary Magazine accepts general submissions of previously unpublished works of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, interactive storytelling, and screenplay. Visual art submissions are also welcomed. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but require immediate notification upon being selected for publication elsewhere. Response time to submissions typically varies from 2-6 weeks.
