Our Staff

Claire Dombroski, the Editor-in-Chief for Howler Literary Magazine, chases stories, hoards energy drinks like her life depends on it (because let’s be honest: it does), and treasures the little sparks that make writing hum. She revels in the way other voices take shape on the page and thrives in the margins, making sure every voice is heard and every page feels alive.

Angel is the submissions editor. She loves her dog, her cozy fits, and books that take her Anywhere But Here. She’s got a soft spot for poetry and a strong belief that naps count as self-care and personality

Naomi Fucanan the Secretary of Howler, and a writer who loves music, writing, drawing, and anything that contains the arts. And although not critically acclaimed, or well-liked at all, she takes pride in her work and her creative touches in everything she makes.

Amanda Okwara is the Website Designer of Howler Literary Magazine. She loves programming and writing short poetry and stories.

Chloe Tomlinson is a senior at Neshaminy High School and an editor for Howler Literary Magazine.

Liora Gutman is an editor for Howler Literary Magazine and a passionate writer. She enjoys writing poetry and short stories while also spending her free time singing, playing clarinet, and reading. You can always find her surrounded by music. As a second year Howler member, she looks forward to reading many intriguing stories!

Sofiia Ivanchuk is an artist for Howler Literary Magazine. Despite being a part of a literary magazine, she isn’t very good at writing (especially creative writing) at all. Good thing her love for visual art makes up for that. Whenever she isn’t submerged in her pounds of never-ending homework, she can be found blasting music in her ears as she draws away in her sketchbook.

Chloe Xie is both a staff artist and writer. A dedicated lover to the world of color theory and free will, she also partakes in a few different hobbies like scrapbooking, scrapbooking.. and more scrapbooking! Did she say she liked scrapbooking yet? Xie can be found occasionally staring at or drawing pictures of her favorite bird, pigeons, or ranting about something new that’s caught her eye. Hoping to see more of the world bloom with the delicately, or harshly, crafted words of writing, she joins Howler Literary for her second year and is excited to see all the works that’ll bloom in Howler.

Julia Mitchell is an editor for Howler Literary Magazine. She loves to turn words and phrases into stories for people to enjoy. Aside from her passion for writing, her life revolves around music. She is either playing piano, singing in choir or just blasting music during a car ride. You can find her hanging out with friends or curled up reading a good book. She loves seeing the joy that art can bring to people.

Arthur Brown is a writer and artist for the Howler Literary Magazine. He has a passion for the ocean and everything that lives below the surface, often centering his artworks around nautical themes. He loves anything out of “the norm”, often indulging in media and stories about dark or unsettling topics. He looks forward to making artworks dedicated to the amazingly creative minds of Howler.

Lea Scully is a passionate writer who loves music and the fine arts. She adores the creative freedom ceramics and creative writing gives her, expressing her passions through words and through clay. Although she is not a perfect artist, she always strives to improve her skills and aspires to work professionally in the arts someday.

Kay Geeza is a writer. Or at least that’s what she wants you to think. Her favorite genres to write and read are dystopian, fantasy, and horror. She’s also a sucker for a good comic. Usually, you can find her holed up in her room making or writing whatever half-formed idea is currently bouncing around in her skull like the DVD logo. Her work hasn’t been featured anywhere… yet. She’s working on it, just you wait.

Nathan Swartz is a sophomore in Neshaminy High School and (probably) an editor for Howler Literary Magazine. He began his writing career in the third grade, creating (admittedly horrendous) works of fiction that would go on to inspire his passion for literature. He LOVES the horror genre and is very excited to read any SpOoKy stories that come his way!
